Electro-acoustic musicians Vortex (Satoshi Takeishi and Shoko Nagai) and video-artist Adam Kendall are a collaborative a/v trio based in NYC. The trio seeks to expand the concept of audio/visual performance, approaching it as an improvisational medium as dynamic and responsive as traditional performance arts. With digitally-processed acoustic keyboards and percussion, and custom Jitter video-applications, they create sonic textures and melodies wholly integrated with organic, live visuals, bridging the mediums through their ears and eyes. The trio regularly performs in NYC and run the a/v series {R}ake.
