Stars Like Fleas, currently a steady group of eight New York musicians, was formed in Brooklyn by the Kansas City native Shannon Fields and the Austin, TX singer and video artist, Montgomery Knott in the winter of 1999. Their 2nd record, "Sun lights down on the fence", has been crawling into cultish acclaim since it's 2003 release, appearing on three different Pitchfork critics' Best of 2004 lists and earning spots in the Village Voice Pazz 'n Jop poll (in addition to a number of critical nominations in 2003). Having been compared to such far-flung groups as Xiu Xiu, Butch Morris, Animal Collective and Town & Country, their BAPLab performance is poised to deliver a perfect slice of post rock.
